Divina Proportione
The secret behind the golden ratio, the “Phi” has been a strong interest of mine. I am passionate about its philosophy and mathematical explanations of it. How it exists in nature and appears in everything. How we can apply and use it in art, architecture, and many other things. Leonardo Da Vinci’s philosophy and the Fibonacci series are especially inspiring. The philosophy behind the golden spiral, dimensions, space, fractals, infinity and many other subject relating to the golden ratio are influencing my artworks at the moment. I love playing around with the space that surrounds the canvas. It gives you so many possibilities and opportunities to express your thoughts and emotions. When I paint, it’s important to me to think about how to use the dimensions to make the painting more alive to the viewer, almost as it would move and talk to the person. Like it would try to tell a secret quietly.
